Daily Briefing, 6/26/2009

Good morning everyone! Here is what we have for you today.

In a story that has huge state-wide and and local implications, Don Cunningham yesterday announced that he will not be running for Governor, citing concerns about his family and leaving the county for a campaign during such a difficult time. In Allentown, superintendent Karen Angello has announced that she will leave the district at the end of her contract on June 30, 2010. Board members in the district passed the third straight budget with no tax hike. Meanwhile, the Easton Area School District also passed their budget last night, raising taxes about 2.7% for Northampton County residents and cutting taxes 2.6% for Bucks residents. And here's some good news for Easton - severe crimes are apparently at a 39 year low.

Local news is the biggest part of the day, aside, of course, from the deaths yesterday of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. Anyway, have a great weekend and we will catch you later.
