Health Care Reform

The Chamber is proud to announce that we just signed up to join the Chamber Alliance for Health Care Reform. Below is more information on what we stand for:

CAHR supports reforms that rein in the cost of health care, improve quality and expand access. However, CAHR opposes a government-run public health care plan that would:

* Unravel the existing employer-based system where more than 160 million people currently get their coverage
* Exacerbate current cost-shifting that already inflates employer family coverage by nearly $1800 a year
* Make health systems slower, more costly and less responsive to patient needs
* Be very expensive and require large federal subsidies
