Lehigh Valley Job & Labor Outlook

The October 2009 version of the Lehigh Valley Job and Labor Outlook is available, thanks to our friends at the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board.  A rough (very rough) summary of the employment trends:

• Unemployment went up - 9.3% in August - from 9.0% in July.  In August 2008, unemployment was 6.1%.  
• In the Lehigh Valley statistical area, about 38,800 people are unemployed.
