Good morning everyone, and a happy Monday to you all. Here is today's Daily Briefing.
Here's something to be proud of: a new survey ranks the Lehigh Valley as the state's top region for green jobs.
In neighboring Berks County, the nominees to replace Senator Mike O'Pake (D-11) have been picked. Republicans have selected the Berks County Register of Wills, Larry Medaglia, while the Democrats have nominated former County Commissioner Judy Schwank. The Morning Call runs a story on school vouchers in Pennsylvania, which Republicans will be fighting for in the coming days.
President Obama is set to deliver his State of the Union address tomorrow - the address is expected to push the President's agenda to the center of the political spectrum. Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI), chairman of the House Budget committee, will give the GOP response. Some good national news: a new survey of economists shows that more hiring is expected in the first six months of 2011 - in fact, the hiring outlook for the next six months is at a twelve year high.
That's it for now! We'll be back later today. Have a good one!
