Where you can donate to the victims of Allentown's explosion

We have had a number of requests coming in with questions about where individuals can donate to the victims of last week's explosion.  We have three answers for you so far:

  • American Red Cross of the Lehigh Valley:  As the website notes, the money will not go directly to individuals affected by the explosion - instead, the money will go to fund future disaster efforts.  As the Red Cross noted, 30 individuals received help from the organization in the immediate aftermath of the explosion.
  • United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley:  The UWGLV has established an Allentown Family Fund.  The money donated will be "specially invested through our many programs and services to assist explosion victims as they get back on track and rebuild their lives."
  • KNBT:  KNBT has established a specific fund that will go to the long-term care of the victims.
  • The Salvation Army:  The Salvation Army is collecting clothing for the victims of the explosion.  Clothing can be dropped off at the Thrift Store on Mickley Road in Whitehall.
As you may know, The Chamber held its Snowball gala & fundraiser this past weekend, and 10% of the proceeds from the event will go to the victims of the explosion.
There are absolutely other charities that I am missing - what are they, and can you leave the contact information?
