Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

In Allentown, the Allentown Education Association rejected its proposed contract.  The Saucon Valley School District and zero tax increase for the third year in a row.  LANTA fares will increase, effective October 1.  Northampton County unveiled their new County Council districts as a result of the 2010 census figures.  Easton's proposed Neighborhood Improvement District will be the subject of at least three additional meetings.

A ban on bath salts and synthetic marijuana was approved yesterday by the Pennsylvania House and Senate; Governor Corbett has said he will sign the legislation.  A new poll finds Senator Casey fairing relatively well, though still below the 50% reelection mark that incumbents seek.

In national news, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was released from the hospital yesterday.  In an effort to force his resignation, House Democrats could strip Congressman Anthony Weiner of his spot on the Energy & Commerce Committee.  The Wisconsin Supreme Court overruled a lower court and found that the state's controversial collective bargaining agreement should go into effect.

Today is a REALLY busy day for us at The Chamber, with four events: a Social Media training session, a Small Business Forum with Senator Mensch and Representative Emerick Emrick, a Grand Opening at Julabo and the Small Business Council's Excellence in Business Awards.

That's it for now!  Have a good one and we'll see you later.
