The Chamber hosted a reception with Congressman Dent and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. At the reception, the U.S. Chamber awarded Congressman Dent with the Spirit of Enterprise Award. The award is given to those who vote with business more than 70% of the time - and the Congressman voted with business interests 100% last year. Below is a note from Michelle Griffin-Young, our Executive VP of Government & External Affairs, describing yesterday's event. From Michelle:
Congressman Dent was presented with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Enterprise Award on June 28th at a Congressional Reception held by The Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. About 140 Chamber members attended. Chamber President and CEO, Tony Iannelli; B.Braun Chairman and CEO, Caroll Neubauer and U.S. Chamber Great Lakes Regional Manager of Congressional and Public Affairs, Cholly Smith; all provided examples of how Congressman Dent has focused his legislative decisions on job creation and business retention. The Spirit of Enterprise award is presented to members of Congress who make key pro-business votes including tax cuts, healthcare reform, etc. Congressman Dent was recognized for his votes made in 2010 (2nd Session, 111th Congress).
