In national news, the stock market significantly recovered from its Monday losses, gaining 400 points. Senator Harry Reid made his three appointments to the debt-reduction "super committee," selecting Senators Patty Murray (D-WA), John Kerry (D-MA) and Max Baucus (D-MT). In Wisconsin, four of the six Republican Senators up for a recall vote won their elections, narrowing GOP control but allowing Republicans to keep control of the Wisconsin State Senate. The Federal Reserve has said it is likely to keep interest rates at near-record lows into 2013.
