Daily Briefing, 11/11/11

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

The median home price in the Valley dropped 7% to $155,000.  In Lehigh County, Commissioners are considering the approval of a new union contract that would require employees to pay more while lowering pay raises.  In Bethlehem, Mayor Callahan will cut ten positions from the 2012 budget.  Charlie Dent has a new challenger: Attorney Jackson Eaton IV.  Lehigh Valley Health Network has been honored for their efforts to eliminate hospital infections.

Here's the latest at Penn State: Mike McQueary, who allegedly witnesssed former coach Sandusky rape a child (yet did not intervene directly or call police), will not coach this Saturday against Nebraska.  Senators Toomey and Casey have rescinded their support to give Joe Paterno a Presidential Medal of Freedom.  In other news, former Senator Vince Fumo was sentenced yesterday to 61 months in prison after being convicted of misusing state funds.

That's it for now!  Have a great day and we'll see you later.
