Daily Briefing, 11/29/2011

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

The big news story of the day is that State Representative Jennifer Mann (D-132) announced yesterday that she will not seek reelection.  Southern Lehigh Superintendent Joseph Liberati died yesterday at 57.  In Northampton County, fee hikes at the Center for Animal Health and Welfare have angered municipal officials.  According to a new survey, local employers are less likely to hire more employees and purchase more equipment in the next six months.

In state-wide news, the State Senate Majority Leader, Dominic Pileggi, is reportedly considering a run against Senator Bob Casey.

In national news, President Obama is pushing for an extension of the his payroll tax cut.  Good news for Cyber Monday sales, which increased around 15% compared to last year.
