Daily Briefing, 12/13/2011

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

In Salisbury, it appears that the township will slightly raise taxes to pay for new fire trucks.

In state-wide news, a Morning Call article looks at the effects that redistricting will have on the state, noting that Allentown will gain a legislative seat.  Today will be the first preliminary hearing in the Jerry Sandusky case.  In Harrisburg, City Council has announced that they will appeal a ruling that denies them the right to file for bankruptcy.

In national news, U.S. Supreme Court announced yesterday that it will hear a case on the constitutionality of Arizona's controversial immigration laws.  Occupy protesters successfully closed down ports on the West Cost.

We have one Chamber event today: the Women Business Council's 3rd Annual Tea & Tree event.

And that's it for now!  Have a great day, and we'll see you later.
