Daily Briefing, 12/15/2011

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

In Allentown, developer J.B. Reilly unveiled proposals for a $50 million office complex near the incoming arena.  Allentown City Council also reviewed a waste-to-energy proposal yesterday. In Whitehall, property and earned income taxes are slightly increasing.  In Easton, taxes have been held steady.  Businessman Elmer Gates spoke at a Chamber event yesterday.

In national news, the Iraqi war has officially come to an end.  President Obama has dropped his demand for a surtax on millionaires in exchange for a payroll tax extension.

We have two Chamber events today: a Grand Opening at Tilted Kilt in Allentown and a Holiday Vendor Night at the Main Street Commons in Bethlehem.

That's it for now!  Have a great day, and we'll be back later.
