Daily Briefing, 12/19/2011

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

First, the top story of the day is the death of North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Il, who died yesterday at 69.  Kim Jong Un, Il's son, is the new leader of North Korea.

An Express-Times story notes that Lehigh Valley cities are taking a big hit when it comes to federal funding this year.

In national news, House Republicans have rejected a deal struck by the White House and Senate to extend the payroll tax cut by two months.  Google has unveiled the top searches of the year: #1 was internet sensation Rebecca Black.

That's it for now!  Have a great day, and we'll see you later.
