Daily Briefing, 12/21/2011

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

The House of Representatives approved a Congressional redistricting map yesterday that gives the Valley two Congressman; Governor Corbett still has to sign the legislation, but he is expected to do so.  PoliticsPA has a great breakdown of who crossed party-lines on the vote and their likely reasoning.

In national news, the House of Representatives voted against the two-month extension of the payroll tax-cut.  Republican Presidential candidate Gary Johnson has announced that he will now seek the Libertarian Presidential nomination.

We have one Chamber event today: a joint East Penn/Western Lehigh lunch featuring the Parkland Charole.

That's it for now!  Have a great day, and we'll be back later.
