Congressman Tim Holden visited yesterday with Northampton County leaders as he prepares to represent the area. The Lehigh Valley Health Network is apparently looking at space within Allentown's new NIZ zone. In Allentown, Democrat Mike Schlossberg (full disclosure: that's me) announced that he is running for the State House of Representatives, seeking to replace Jennifer Mann, who announced her retirement last month. The Sands Casino saw their revenue increase this year. J.B. Reilly, who is helping to lead the arena development in downtown Allentown, resigned from the board of the Lehigh Valley Health Network. Bill Hecht, former PPL CEO, is the new Board Chair.
The state is looking at wave to reduce the number of district judges - according to the currently plan, one judgeship would be eliminated in Northampton County. In national news, President Obama will be using his recess appointment power to appoint three individuals to the National Labor Relations Board.
