Daily Briefing, 8/24/2012

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

In Allentown, the Neighborhood Improvement Zone Authority voted to take out about $234 in bonds to fund construction of the arena and some related facilities.  Also in the city, nine bidders were prequalified to bid on the cities water & sewer facilities.  The Commonwealth Court has granted Representative Joe Brennan's petition to remove himself from the ballot and allowed local and state Democrats ten days to replace him.  Don Cunningham laid out his vision for LVEDC at a breakfast yesterday.

In state-wide news, a new poll shows President Obama leading PA by a 49-40 margin.

In national news, oil is now near $100 a barrel.

That's it for now!  Have a great day, and we'll see you later.
