#InclusionWorks

Nancy Dischinat, Lehigh Valley Workforce Development Board, Inc.

I recently read a blog that I just had to share. The United States has hired more than 154,000 permanent and temporary employees with disabilities. As some of you may know October is not only Breast Cancer Awareness month but it is also National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM).

The purpose of National Disability Employment Awareness Month is to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities.
Reflecting the important role disability plays in workforce diversity, this year’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) theme is “#InclusionWorks.” Observed each October, NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a diverse workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.
